Online Training Resources
for Auto, Truck and Collision Instructors and Students – Updated February 15, 2022

ASE is offering students at ASE Accredited training programs free access to our Introduction to Automobile Service (IAS) program through July 31, 2022.

Delivered exclusively online, the program focuses on awareness of entry-level tasks related to basic automobile service. The first four modules cover general automotive service topics and the fifth consists of a final quiz covering the content in modules 1– 4. Those who successfully pass the IAS Quiz may print a customized certificate of completion.

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is now offering a selection of free courses to prepare CTE teachers to teach online through their portal CTE Learn. View the details in this PDF.

Auto Upkeep
Auto Upkeep has multiple delivery methods to help you teach introductory automotive: Print Books, eBooks, and the NEW Online Academy. The Auto Upkeep Academy is an all-in-one solution to help you teach from school, home, or a blended learning environment. Students have incentives to log in each day, complete interactive content, and advance through the program. AVI offers an Unlimited Educator Pass that is designed for both students and educators to receive continuing online education. We have opened up a 2-week free trial of over 500 hours of training, including ASE Test Prep for Engine Performance, Electrical, Brakes, Diesel, Suspension and Steering, plus Maintenance & Light Repair, Hybrid, Alternative Fuels, ADAS Technology and more. CTI+WTI is excited to enhance our support for ASE Education Foundation and Career & Technical Education Instructors by giving them unlimited access to our Virtual Classroom events delivered via the CTI+WTI Learning Center. The Virtual Classroom gives these educators access to our world class content and conveniently tracks attendance to support their ongoing annual training requirements. We have created an Online Registration Form making it easy to get started. Once approved, each instructor will receive login credentials to the CTI+WTI Learning Center where they can Enroll in any Virtual Classroom event. CDX is focused on helping the community of instructors challenged by a sudden push into distance learning. In response, we are doing two things:

For CDX instructors - Releasing daily distance learning assignments and training

  • Concentrating on support for the CDX community of instructors, we are releasing daily distance learning assignments. These assignments are brand new, novel assignments. They use a variety of innovative ways to keep students engaged at a distance and require only internet access. 
  • Providing training for instructors on best practices of distance learning, as well as tips and tricks to keep students engaged. The support materials include webinars, downloadable documents, and video tutorials.

For instructors at large - Offering demo opportunities and extended trials

  • For any non-customer instructor interested in learning more about or trying our product, we are gladly offering demos and trails to extend through the period of the distance learning requirement. Interested parties need only visit the website at or contact their regional account manager.

Cengage For U.S. higher education institutions experiencing unplanned, mid-semester impacts due to COVID-19, Cengage is offering students free access to all our digital platforms and 14,000 ebooks through Cengage Unlimited, for the remainder of this semester. Daimler Truck North America
Through Daimler Truck’s Get Ahead program, schools can have access to curriculum anytime, not just in times like these. Schools with an ASE Accredited truck program can have free access to the curriculum and actually earn a system certification that is recognized at any of our 770 network locations. Go to, click on the GET AHEAD tab and follow the directions for schools. Schools first request a sponsoring location. Once approved, the instructor at the school has to pass the training modules and then they can turn on the training curriculum for their students. View the details in this PDF.

To assist instructors new to Electude or customers wanting to up their skills, Electude is offering multiple training webinars every week. To register for one, simple go to, hover over the one you wish to attend and click “sign up,” and the registration form will appear. These webinars are all automatically recorded, so if you register but do not attend, you will receive a link to the recording – so you are encouraged to register even if just to receive the recording. Ford Motor Company is pleased to offer assistance to ASE Accredited Schools through the Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) program.

Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) is a partnership program between Ford Motor Company, Ford and Lincoln dealerships, and secondary and post-secondary educational institutions. There are no fees to educational institutions to participate in the Ford ACE program. Students attending a Ford ACE partnership school can obtain valuable knowledge of Ford/Lincoln vehicle systems by completing Web-Based Training (WBT) via our Learning Management System (LMS). These courses are a subset of the same courses taken by our current dealership technicians. By completing these WBT courses, the students are one step closer towards a career in the automotive industry, beginning as an entry level automotive service technician at a Ford/Lincoln dealership. General Motors / ACDelco
General Motors and ACDelco are strong supporters of future automotive technicians via ASE Accredited secondary and post-secondary schools. ACDelco is proud to announce an online training program available at no cost to all ASE Accredited high school and college instructors and students.

Instructors will have access to over 100 ACDelco web-based training courses. Students will be given access to over 20 technical and business web-based training courses.

General Motors also provides instructors at ASE Accredited programs access to their complete GM Service Information system. This is the same information used by GM service techs at dealerships across the country. To access this service, log onto your account in the ASE Education Foundation Portal at Then click on Instructor Resources in the left-hand menu.

Grote Know-How is an online resource with six sections covering electrical basics, vehicle lighting, installation, and troubleshooting. Each section also includes a short quiz, with a final test at the end that is designed to measure your overall comprehension of the material. Visit to get started.
